When choosing speakers, it has been conventional wisdom to judge by specifications such as speaker size, driver diameter, and power handling capacity based on the size of the space where they will be used.
However, M's System's wave-motion speakers, which can fill Suntory Hall's Blue Rose venue with 400 full seats using just one speaker measuring 21cm in diameter and 40cm in length, defy that conventional wisdom and those specifications.
Moreover, rich tones resonate throughout the entire space without needing to turn up the volume too high, so people in front aren't bothered by excessive noise, and those in the back row don't have trouble hearing.
This is not much different from what violins and clarinets naturally do.
Just as the sound of acoustic instruments and natural sounds diffuse from a single point throughout an entire space, the sound from wave-motion speakers spreads naturally.
When those considering M's System's 1001M (Maple) ask how much space this can cover, we tell them "from a 6-tatami room to Suntory Hall with just this one speaker," and show them photos demonstrating examples of our "Concert Without Performers."

Not too loud when you're close, yet fully audible even when you're far from the speaker.
Rather than sitting in one spot facing the speaker intently, if you want to listen to music while doing something else, reading a book, or having a drink, this style is probably the perfect fit.
How to choose speakers.
Indeed, we used to choose based on room size.
But that has become a thing of the pre-M's System era.
From now on, experiencing that rich sound where natural tones spread naturally will surely become the most important criterion in speaker selection.
